We talk a lot of keeping "on the beam," and that is a good expression to keep in mind. Agnes Sanford ventures the opinion that "this life of God moves upon a certain wave length, a certain flow, nor will it move in any other way." Lao-tse, ancient Chinese philosopher, said that we must learn to flow "as life flows," and that if we do, we need "no other force." It all adds up to keeping on the beam, and if you are on the beam, said Emmet Fox, "you are safe, even if outer things seem to be confused or even very dark; but as soon as you get off the beam you are in danger."
