sin he cannot be free from sickness, and if men do not know the Principle (God) of Healing, their cure will be temporal, or they will fall into some other disease. The dependence of the body upon the soul for its health is an old teaching. We find Plato telling the Greek physicians that the cause of their failure to heal was in their ignorance of the needs of the soul.

Neither ought you to attempt to cure the body ‘without the soul; for the reason why the cure of many diseases is unknown to the physicians of Hellas is because they are ignorant of the whole, which ought to be studied also, for the part can never be well unless the whole is well.

For over three hundred years after the advent of Jesus his followers combined healing works with their preaching, and considered them to be the signs which should follow (Mark 16 :17, 18) and confirm the truth of the doctrines (Mark 16:20).But when quarrels and schisms began to disrupt the church, then pride, worldly ambition, and covetousness seemed to hide the simple teachings of the meek and lowly One. Nevertheless the healing has never been quite abolished, and now that its principle is being grasped by reason as well as faith, it has come to abide forever, and will shine

“more and more unto the perfect day.”

Every lover of Truth who embodies in himself the unity of the principles and the works of Christ is one who is a center of healing for all the world, the light of the world, the salt of the earth. Universal healing radiates from him as rays from the sun, and many are healed by simply looking towards him for healing.
