The love of God here spoken of is distinctly said to be the result of finding “God” actually a reliable working power (verses 1 and 2). He makes no pretence of loving God for nothing. He loves Him for what He does. “God” is the soul’s Rest (verse 7). “The land of the living” (verse 9) as distinguished front "the dead" = εκ τωυ υεκρω

The whole aim is at Livingness, as Jude says. The Idea of Abundance is stated in verse 7. These things are attributed to Belief (verse 10). The return to be made for the Life-giving and Abundance is stated in verse 13. The “cup” of salvation at Once suggests the First Hé ( = Jehovah = the three Dispensations). And the same idea in its completeness is carried out by calling on the Name of the Lord. The Whole Name can be realized only through “the cup.” The Name is mentioned three times (verses 4. 13, 17).
