This is the cry of many who do not understand the power of the mind. But to those who understand that the power of a belief in possibility feeds the insights of the scientist is the same as that which fuels the religious to the fervor of faith, suggestion is comprehended as the wings which lift.

Indeed a growing chorus of protest is rising from all quarters, and it begins to be apparent that the movement must lay aside its peculiar religious claims and take its place among the other methods of psychic healing, which, of course, recognizes that it's healing methods are not unique to Christianity.

Fourth, for a decade I have maintained that the time has come when in every community there should be a sanitarium where honest and skillful operators should use psychotherapy for the relief of disease, and where physicians could send those of their patients who need that sort of treatment; and that all religious organizations should learn and practice spiritual healing as well as give their support to such an institution, not demanding that the institution be focused on a particular religion of any kind, but as being humanitarian in the best sense of the word, and thus meriting the endorsement and support of all society, just as gymnasia, and baths and other physical accessories aid in the complete development and healing of the body and thus merit encouragement as by-products of Physical Education.

If the Emmanuel Movement or any other spiritual movement helps clear the intellectual atmosphere in the zone of psychic healing, producing methods and approaches which lead to more healing and happiness within our world, then this book, will not have been in vain.
