The world was not finally created in the beginning but is in an everlasting process of growth. Creation lasts as long as time itself. God has not already determined events but is now determining them. Man is both created and creator. A creature of God, he is free to work with God from this time forth.

This conception of evolution, asserts Dr. Bascom, puts an end to the separation between religious truth and other forms of truth. Religion cannot deal with its own assertions without thereby coming into relation with the teachings of science and philosophy. Consciousness does not afford a direct approach to God.
