"God divided" stands for the truth that God classifies all things and holds all things in their true relation to each other and in their true relation to Him, and knows Himself to be the whole.

"I am that I am; I will be what I will be. He who was, is, and evermore shall be."

Gen. 1:7

Ps. 148:4-5

"And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so."

The waters above the firmament are the potentialities of Creation. --- God's idea, or creation, before it is expressed. They are the possibilities of eternal life.

The waters below the firmament are all that results from God's possibilities called universal force, ether or elements, and what are formed within and of them. "God divided means God acted, and "it was so."

Gen. 1: 8

John 15:26-27

"And God called the firmament heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day."
