been able to grasp. Doing so, he will develop into fuller and fuller consciousness; the Light increasing and the "darkness" decreasing. He is not to concern himself with the "darkness"; he is not expected to handle that which he does not yet understand. He is to "let be" that which is unfolding within him.

Man is to use his knowledge, but he is not to form opinions about what he does not know. If he does, he will experience inharmonious conditions out of which he must work his way. This is partaking 'of the "tree of the knowledge of good and evil," a thought divided between certainty and uncertainty, a mixture of trust in what he knows, and doubt or fear of what lie does not know.

The light and darkness are one; the former is the extent of our knowledge; the latter is Truth unknown. "Evil" is the result of forming personal opinions about the unknown; it is the attitude of impatience, which destroys trust, breaks our calm and makes us restless. This is the cause of all ills, of all unhappy experiences.
