Luke 15:1-32 Luke 16: 1: 31 Luke 17: 11 Luke 9:51-56 Luke 17:20-37 |
Jesus defends himself against the Pharisees and Scribes for instructing publicans and sinners.
Pharisees are reproved. "If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead."
The Samaritans will not receive Jesus. James and John reproved for their zeal against them.
"Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of."
The Pharisees ask when the Kingdom of God
should come. Jesus answered, " The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you." Rom. 14:17.
"For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness (right thinking) and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost." The consciousness of the whole truth, Divine understanding.
Matt. 19: 1-12 Mark 10:1-12 |
Jesus enters Judaea. The Pharisees question him about divorce. The great Teacher refers these men to what we read in Genesis 1:27 and 2:24, the full explanation of which is found in lesson G of the Genesis lessons. "Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so." In the next verse the word "fornication" is used, and as this word means the act of an unmarried person, it can be applied to the married in one sense only, spiritually.
