These years of study proved to be the crucial epoch of his life; it was during this time that he yielded to Jesus' teachings the complete surrender of all treasured by the Hebrews. The power of a trained thinker, a logical reasoner, was Paul's; the province of intelligence is to widen our spiritual vision. We have been born into what he worked for, what he bravely gave his life for, but it would be a grave mistake to try to fit him into the progressive thought of our day. Scriptures must be read with discrimination and processes of knowledge be applied; differences in writers and ages be noted. They should be studied from a basis of knowledge and understanding. With his knowledge of Greek, Paul was able to address his hearers wherever he went without an interpreter. This afforded him an advantage over Peter, who was obliged to use an interpreter in his preaching. Peter spoke Aramaic (Syrian), a widely spread medium of communication in regions of Further Asia.
