be received from within and be held firmly in my consciousness, if I would see its perfection and peace fully and beautifully imaged in daily life. If I try to gain my peace from the image and likeness, from the visible which is God's manifestation of Himself, I leave the true and original Source of good, and soon find lack everywhere. E. Canaan is consciousness that trusts in Spirit.

Egypt is thought that trusts in materiality.

After our thought has once been turned to the outer, and we are led to gain our supply through personal effort, "tilling the ground"; thought is more and more weaned from dependence upon Spirit until it finally accepts the opinion and beliefs of material sense. Thus we mingle with people _of that land as is said of Israel, and likewise bless the material means we use.

Jer. 2: 13

"My people have committed two evils; (made two mistakes) they have forsaken me, the fountain of living water, and have hewed them out, cisterns, broken cisterns that can hold no water." They have left the true Source, and are believing that to be a source which can hold no good for them, these are their two mistakes.
