The third and last leader is the Spirit of
Truth, Impersonal and Omnipresent, guiding and
leading its followers by the light within themselves, to find the Infinite Light and Fulness that
belongs to each soul in the Eternal Spirit of the
Universe.
Israel has always stood to us as God's chosen
people. This suggests to us the question, Can that
Love which is no respecter of persons show any
partiality? Is there any truth in the thought that
God has a chosen people? Every thought of man
has a truth in it, or underlying it. His interpretation of that truth may be at fault because of his
limited consciousness, but this does not affect the Truth. By untruth is truth shrouded, not altered.
There is a truth then in the idea of God's chosen
people, although man's misconception of it has
well nigh entirely shrouded it. To find the spiritual significance of "Israel" we shall need to understand the truth that is contained in the phrase, "God's chosen people." What has the Divine
Love chosen above all else? What is that "Whom
He did foreknow and predestinate," which means
predetermine, foredoom or settle eternally?
