Moses is the leading thought in that consciousness
which says, "Heaven is ours." It is that distant
land towards which we journey, our ground of
faith is holiness which we must keep in sight while
we journey. We leave the body, or belief in body
as cause, to take possession of all spiritual good,
and so the journey begins.
In the increased light of our understanding today, we see that there is no journey to take where
unity of heaven and earth, of soul and body, is
seen. All hindrance to immediate acceptance of
heavenly conditions, is because thought wavers
"between two opinions" not yet seeing clearly
on the one hand, and not giving up wholly on the
other. It does not turn a deaf ear to old claims
even after it has felt Truth's destroying power.
That Israel did not see clearly the Divine Presence is indicated in the words, "The Lord went before them by day in the pillar of a cloud, and by
night in a, pillar of fire." These are but symbols
of that Presence. Symbols are props to the weakness of human thought. We feed upon the symbol
while we do not realize the Presence of the reality.
We cannot use the symbol after the Presence that
is with us always has come to our consciousness "Do this till I come." "When that which is perfect is come, that which was in part shall be done
away."
