they cried out, "Would to God we had died in the
land of Egypt, where we sat by the flesh pots and
where we did eat flesh to the full, for ye have
brought us out to kill us with hunger." They forgot the rock of their salvation in the Eternal they
lost sight of the ground of their faith. So the decree was pronounced, "Ye shall not come into the
land because ye are turned away from the Lord,
the Lord shall not be with you. Surely none of
the men that came up out of Egypt shall see the
land, because they have not wholly followed Me.
But your little ones --- them will I bring in, and
they shall know the land which ye have despised."
"Within one year after leaving Egypt, Israel
draws near to Canaan," yet they did not enter
into possession of the land.
Opinions and beliefs within us that insist upon
their own knowledge, never carry us into Spiritual
consciousness. Such condition of thought dies in
the wilderness that truer thoughts may realize the
Eternal. Ignorance is not a passport to heaven.
To know God and God's manifestation is Eternal
Life.
In Divine Science, the starting point is the unit
or One God. All forms are the expressions of the
One; they exist as the One revealed. Each living
form is as perfect within itself as is the One producing it. "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your
Father which is in heaven is perfect."
