present perfection of Life, Substance, Intelligence
and Power. That which is perfect is not always
complete, while that which is complete must be
perfect. A child is perfect but incomplete. A
seed is perfect; in its unfoldment it is completed.
The "beginning" spoken of in all the Spiritual
records of creation is creative action it is the
expressing and speaking forth of what the I Am
is.
In Divine Science we learn what Selfhood is
and where it is based and that we are free from
worldly theories only in Truth. We see evolution
as a mental process and interpret that process
from the basis of God as Source and Cause.
Evolution consists of a theory of the evolution
of form, or of reproduction, the higher forms
evolving from the lower. The variety of form,
color and character is produced by what is called
natural selection. Nature's choice, that the origin
of species is caused by circumstances (not a fixed
law), that the intermixing of certain types, or
forms, produces the different species, hence the
variety of form. This theory of evolution is one
based wholly in form and observation. It is asserted to commence with the simplest known form,
every succeeding form is due to and is the result
of the preceding form; that is, forms make forms, or the source of form is form, that the more complex
