has evolved from the more simple one; this theory claims form to be both cause and effect, the cause being inferior to the effect, hence the result is considered to be superior to its cause. Yet it can be truthfully said that no law is known by which an effect or expression can be greater than its source and cause.

Another theory set forth differs from this one only in that it is a more interior process; namely, what is termed the evolution of the soul.

The starting point is in cosmic light, primal expression of Spirit. The beginning of the evolution of soul commences with an expression of Infinite Spirit, called cosmic light. It is to be noted here that the reasoning begins in the expression or effect instead of the Expressor or Cause; this effect, cosmic light, finally evolves the soul of a planet, then produces from this soul in regular order, the souls of all things manifested upon the planet; beginning with the mineral, then vegetable, then animal, then the lower to the highest consciousness in the human form, the human soul.

This theory has been largely considered by many who are striving "to rend the veil of sense and pass into the realization of things which lie above and beyond this shadow land."
