Hag. 2: 7

Is supposed to be a reference to the coming of the Messiah. It was a prophecy of the coming of the Christ. "The desire of all nations shall come." A broad, impersonal statement. Every nation is desiring wisdom and is seeking it, each in its own way, even if it is on a low plane.

We cannot seek good without seeking God, though we may not know it.

When the prophets foretell an event externally it seems wonderful, but most of their foretelling is deeper than that. They were studying the people, their wants and desires, and they saw what kept the fulfillment of these things from them. It was always their own sins, of course.

The prophets merely interpreted the Law.

They saw that a soul would come some day who would know the Truth and would demonstrate it. Jesus was the first, but will not be the last. There have been many Christs or demonstrators of the law. It is wonderful to tell what is going to take place in the future, but we, today, are having a clearer consciousness, for we are seeing that the fulfillment is right here and now
