"Yet could lie not heal you, nor cure you of your wound."

"I will wait until they turn to seek me." Affliction comes through disobedience to the Law, and through that the soul turns to God. Ps. 72:12.

"According as they loved." Israel was in captivity to Egypt because it became captivated by Egypt, by externals. The lovers I go out to get my supply from are the things I love more than God. 17th verse refers to Israel and the ten tribes; they are supposed to be these wandering tribes.

Their heart is divided. "You have taken the things I have given you and have made images out of them." God has given the things, but man has made images of them. Dent. '28:64. These wandering tribes are referred to.

"Ye have ploughed wickedness, ye have reaped iniquity, ye have eaten the fruit of lies, because thou didst trust in thy ways, in the multitude of thy mighty men."

"When Israel was a child then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt." There is what we have been studying. Every one of us, as the son, is called to come out of Egypt, out of externals. Egypt was all right, but it was not made to be a source to us.

"And now they sin more and more, and have made them molten images of their silver, and idols
